Joe Chambers<\/strong> (born June 25, 1942) is an American<\/a> jazz drummer<\/a>, pianist<\/a>, Vibraphonist<\/a> and composer<\/a> most notable for his work with Wayne Shorter<\/a> on the album Adam’s Apple<\/a><\/em>. He attended the Philadelphia Conservatory<\/a> for one year. [1]<\/a><\/sup> In the 1960s and 70s Chambers gigged with several high-profile artists such as Eric Dolphy<\/a>, Charles Mingus<\/a>, Lou Donaldson<\/a>, Chick Corea<\/a>, Freddie Hubbard<\/a>, Jimmy Giuffre<\/a> and Bobby Hutcherson<\/a>. Other artists Joe Chambers has worked with in his career include Andrew Hill<\/a>, Archie Shepp<\/a>, Miles Davis<\/a>, David Murray<\/a>, Joe Henderson<\/a>, Franck Amsallem<\/a> and Max Roach<\/a>. He has been a member of several incarnations of Roach’s M’Boom<\/a> percussion ensemble.[2]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

He has also taught, including at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music<\/a> in New York, NY<\/a>. At the school he leads the “Outlaw Band,”[3]<\/a><\/sup>[4]<\/a><\/sup>[5]<\/a><\/sup>[6]<\/a><\/sup> In 2008, he was hired to be the Thomas S.
